We have been awarded £19.5 million from the Government’s Levelling Up Fund to support infrastructure within the city.

£7.5 million of this fund will be used to create a new grant scheme which aims to bring unused floorspace of any vacant or partially occupied property back into use. Similar to previous grant schemes in the Old Town, the Levelling Up Grant scheme will allow various diverse businesses to open and operate, breathing new life into the area.

The grant scheme will cover Whitefriargate, Albion Square and the surrounding connecting area. Please see the boundary map for more details on specific geographic locations.

Grants will be made available to fund viable proposals to -

  • restore heritage buildings
  • improve dilapidated buildings
  • bring back into use vacant floorspace
  • create new permanent jobs
  • convert buildings to sustainable use

Single grants of up to £750,000 can be awarded with a minimum of 50% match funding from the applicant.

Interested parties are asked to submit an expression of interest form for approval and successful applicants will be invited to complete a full application form.

Please send you completed forms to lufgrants@hullcc.gov.uk.
