We are an engineering and manufacturing powerhouse, home to global names such as Croda, Willerby Caravans, Siemens Gamesa, Reckitt, Ideal Heating, Smith & Nephew, Daifuku Logan to name a few. 15% of the population is employed in this sector which is almost twice the national average.

Our strengths are in engineering, renewable energy and environmental technologies, the manufacture of caravans and modular buildings, healthcare products and printing and packaging. As a manufacturing city, we have a strong existing skills base and recent investments in R&D centres are creating real opportunities for the future.

Our university has a number of research institutes and works with companies to develop IP rich products and processes in addition to providing specialist education and talent in line with industry needs.

About the Network

The Network will support the growth and prosperity of the Hull and East Yorkshire manufacturing sector, by bringing together manufacturing firms to share best practice, develop knowledge, champion the sector, and raise awareness of trading challenges and issues.

Membership is free of charge for any business engaged in manufacturing in the Hull & East Yorkshire region, and the Network welcomes firms from a variety of manufacturing sub-sectors including fabrication, tooling, chemicals production, food production, leisure home & caravan manufacture, and much else besides.

As the Network has been established to support the development and growth of manufacturing firms – primarily via peer learning – we must advise that professional services firms, business consultants, and training providers are not permitted to join the network or attend events, unless expressly invited to do so by the Network.
