The Making Changes for Careers, (MC4C) programme is dedicated to supporting enterprising young people between the ages of 16 and 29 and living in the Hull and the East Riding area, that are looking to start their own business.
The support offered to young people that are interested in starting their own business includes an array of free opportunities that could help them realise their entrepreneurship ambitions, and these include training, mentors, a possible Test Market Grant, and ongoing support from the team.
As part of the MC4C programme, participants can get access to free structured training sessions that will help answer all their business start-up questions and includes dedicated workshops covering the following:
- Is Self-Employment for Me?
- Company Structures & How to Get Set Up
- Money Management
- HMRC & Tax
- Marketing Strategy & Promotion
- The Big 13 Enterprise Skills
- Mental Wellbeing & Self-Employment
Those that sign up to the free programme will have access to the wider MC4C team who all have experience of running a business, and they deliver the training workshops. Participants will also have a named Business Advisor that will be on hand to support them with the training, alongside their 1 to 1 support to help them with any burning questions or challenges they are facing.
MC4C also has a bank of experienced business mentors that are on hand to support our participants, and these can be invaluable as another person to confide in for support or advice should they need it.
Participants living in Hull may also be eligible to apply for a Test Market Grant that could be used to help them purchase items or services to aid their business start-up. This is provided via UKSPF with the support of The John Cracknell Youth Enterprise Bank. Those eligible for the grant will have the ongoing support of their named business advisor to help them with their applications. To find out more about the Test Market Grant click here
