Businesswomen from across the region gathered for the Women in Business biannual charity lunch in Hull.

More than 100 guests attended the networking afternoon at The Village Hotel, giving women in Hull and East Yorkshire the opportunity to share ideas and experiences while raising money for two charities.

Key speaker Alice Maltby, of Little Wold Vineyard in South Cave, talked about the challenges she had overcome to build a successful wedding planning business alongside an award-winning vineyard on the family farm.

This year’s chosen charities were Bundles of Joy and Mires Beck Nursery.

The event gave women in Hull and East Yorkshire the chance to share ideas.

The date and location of the next Women in Business Women of Achievement Awards was also revealed. The bi-annual awards, which host 400 people and is the organisation’s largest event, will take place next year on Friday 6 November from noon to 5pm next year at The Mercure Hotel in Willerby.

Natalie Houfe, newly appointed chair of Women in Business, said: “We were once again delighted to welcome women from all industries to our charity lunch. It’s not often you get to share a nice meal with a great group of ladies, while being inspired by a success story and supporting two great local charities all at the same time."
