Saltend Chemicals Park has welcomed its first new business since being acquired by Teesside-based infrastructure management specialist px group.

Environmental services provider Veolia UK will take approximately 2,000 sq ft of office space and a compound area for the storage of vehicles, specialist cleaning apparatus and protective equipment.

About 30 people will be employed at the company's new base on the banks of the River Humber, with services include high pressure water jetting, tankers and vacuum systems cleaning, abrasive blasting and industrial coatings.

Jay Brooks, site director at px, said: "We are delighted to have been able to attract such a well-known and reputable company to join us.  Around 30 per cent of the 370 acre site is unused at present, providing huge potential for growth.  We hope this will be the first of many businesses to come here as we work to update and improve the facilities available."
