Turnover has grown to more than £30m at historic Hull-headquartered paper merchant, which provided the materials for a major art installation as part of Hull City of Culture 2017.

GF Smith was founded by George Frederick Smith in 1885. Today, it employs a workforce of about 200 at offices on Lockwood Street in Hull and in London's White Hart Avenue, providing a number of services including photographic mounting, stationery manufacturing, wedding album production and paper sales.

Recently filed accounts for GF Smith & Son (London) show turnover of £31.1m for the year ending 31 October 2017, up from £29.9m in 2016.

Pre-tax profit also increased to £949,179 from £719,637 the year before.
