Aldi's "tired" Hessle supermarket could be given a welcome face-lift as expansion plans are revealed.

The supermarket chain, which has a branch in Henry Boot Way, wants to increase the size of the store by more than 5,000 sq ft.

Aldi also has stores in Anlaby Road, Beverley Road, West Carr Lane and in Beverley.

A letter submitted as part of the plans said the expansion aims to create “a better shopping experience for customers”.

It says: “The tired state of the store, and sustained periods of strong trading, has resulted in the Henry Boot Way store being earmarked for extension.

“The purpose of the floorspace extension is to create a better shopping experience for its customers, while also increasing efficiencies.
