The new owner of Aunt Bessie’s has raised its expected earnings for the year by £4m following the acquisition.

Nomad Foods, which completed the £210m deal for the historic Hull brand in July, said it expected to see an “immediate” effect from the purchase.

Aunt Bessie’s was formerly owned by the William Jackson Food Group, and currently employs around 400 people at its factory in Freightliner Road.

Nomad Foods’ portfolio also includes frozen good giant Birds Eye, and the company has now raised its expected earnings for 2018 from £327m to £331m.
