Beverley Racecourse could be transformed as plans for a new £4.8m grandstand have been revealed.

The development would see a new large, open bar and gaming area added at the racecourse, as well as a high-quality bistro and al fresco dining balcony.

The new grandstand would also provide improved viewing for spectators, both inside and outside the building.

If plans are approved by East Riding Council, work is hoped to be completed in time for the 2021 racing calendar, with a temporary "village" built for the year 2020 to avoid disruption.
