The chief sales officer of new Northern Powerhouse partner Connexin has hailed the impact of the initiative and emphasised the role it can play in bringing forward the adoption of smart cities technology.
The company specialises in building and operating smart city infrastructure to support the internet of things.
As part of the business' work with Newcastle City Council on the Great Exhibition of the North, Rob Bullock, chief sales officer at Connexin, attended the Northern Powerhouse Business Summit.
He told Insider: "I was inspired by the speakers they had there, such as Jake Berry and Collette Roche from Manchester United. It made me feel proud and inspired.
"The company was born and bred in Hull, and it was an obvious choice to make to get more involved."
