Rick Lyon joins Hull PR firm from Bishop Burton College, where he was marketing director and a member of the strategic leadership group.

Hull PR consultancy Meehan Media and Comms has made a key new appointment to its growing team as it works with major investors in the region.

Rick Lyon has joined the firm as communications director from Bishop Burton College, where he was marketing director and a member of the strategic leadership group.

Rick will work closely with managing director and founder John Meehan to help accelerate the company’s growth.

Meehan Media has handled local and regional communications for Siemens Gamesa’s £310m offshore wind manufacturing centre in Hull and delivered media relations for the opening of RB’s £105m Science and Innovation Centre in Hull.

Prominent local clients include commercial property developer Wykeland Group and housebuilder Beal Homes, including all PR, communications and social media activity for the Wykeland Beal joint venture driving the £80m regeneration of Hull’s Fruit Market waterfront district.

A highly experienced and skilled PR, media and marketing executive, Rick spent 14 years at the Hull Daily Mail, holding key positions including chief reporter and news editor, winning several awards.
