Plans for an £8 million Porsche showroom on the edge of Hull have been submitted.

The proposal made by Lister Group and Wykeland Group would see the development of the first Porsche Centre for the family-owned Lister Group, which operates luxury car brands across Hull, Lincolnshire and the Midlands.

The development, which would see the creation of 50 jobs, is expected to be complete in late 2019.

It would see the creation of a 22-car, double-height showroom alongside 14 state-of-the-art workshop bays for Porsche services.

Managing director Geoff Lister said: “Porsche Centre Hull will be located on a two-and-a-half acre site on the high-profile Bridgehead business park.

"This is an exciting development both for the city and our company and is part of Porsche’s strategic plan to expand its dealer network to take advantage of growing demand in the luxury car market.”

Dominic Gibbons, managing director of the Wykeland Group, developer of Bridgehead, said: “This is the latest in a series of significant investments by blue chip companies at Bridgehead and especially exciting as it will bring one of the world’s most prestigious motoring brands to East Yorkshire.”

Lister Porsche director Richard Kitteridge said: “I’ve lived in Hull for the last 15 years and am really excited to be bringing this iconic brand to the city.

"Everyone dreams of owning a Porsche and we’re looking forward to making those dreams a reality with both new and approved pre-owned models on display.”
