Following the re-launch of THUD (The Hook Up Dinner) earlier in the year, November will see the final THUD event of 2024 take place at Humber Street Gallery.

This time, THUD is proud to be a feature of Hull’s Global Entrepreneurship Week celebrations. Three young entrepreneurs from both Hull and East Riding will pitch their businesses, from their journey so far to their ambitions for the future, to those that attend. Attendees can choose to support the young entrepreneurs in a variety of ways ranging from simply voting for their preferred presenter, to offering mentoring, or even financial support.

At least one young entrepreneur will receive a cash prize to grow their business thanks to sponsorship from the John Cracknell Youth Enterprise Bank and The Micro Biz Alliance.

Past THUD events have been fortunate enough to welcome esteemed guest speakers which have included Ian Cass (Forum for Private Business) and Phil Ascough (Ascough Associates). This event is no exception. Tony Robinson, Chair of Yorkshire in Business, alongside partners from Far North will bring their popular and successful Happipreneur show to Hull. Tony speaks of the event:

"Jenn Crowther, Entrepreneur and CEO of Yorkshire in Business, Ian Farrar, Entrepreneur and CEO of Far North, and I look forward to meeting everyone at the November THUD. As part of our Final UK Tour, we'll perform a shortened, interactive "Be More Happipreneur" Show. We hope to give the young entrepreneurs of my favourite and home city lots of helpful, practical tips about making ends meet AND being happy in their enterprising careers".

Daniel Barker, a member of the MC4C Team, who will act as host for the evening also spoke of the event:

I am thrilled that following the re-launch of THUD earlier in 2024, we are able to embed our final event of the year into Hull’s Global Entrepreneurship Week celebrations. The event has already supported several young entrepreneurs so far this year and been attended by many more. I am sure November’s event will provide an excellent finale to THUD events this year.’
