We are delighted to tell you that the new Government has today (Thursday 19 September), announced their support for the Hull and East Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (MCA) devolution deal.

The deal is exactly as submitted to the previous Government and the Order to establish it will now be laid before Parliament. We expect that the Combined Authority will form early next year, and with the Hull and East Riding Mayoral election taking place next May.

The deal will give local leaders the power to make decisions in areas such as transport, adult education, and housing, boosting economic growth and opportunity.

This is excellent news for our city and our region which will help to ensure that the Hull and East Riding voice is heard, and we can start to fulfil our true economic potential.
