Partnership with Esteem has delivered almost £410m of investment at 27 developments in the city over the past nine years.
A successful procurement partnership that has delivered hundreds of millions of pounds of projects in Hull has been extended by five years.
Esteem delivers infrastructure solutions for major projects on behalf of Hull City Council using a loyal, largely local supply chain with a demonstrable track record of delivering both capital projects and operational support services.
The partnership has delivered almost £410m of investment at 27 developments over the past nine years, which includes Hull New Theatre, Ferens Art Gallery, Woodford Leisure Centre, as well as providing new or refurbished accommodation for around 14,000 children through the Building Schools for the Future programme.
Since using Esteem for the Building Schools for the Future programme, the delivery of projects has been reduced from 78 weeks to an average of 41 weeks. In addition, the cost of delivery of new pupil places has reduced from £21,907 to £19,225 per pupil.
Councillor Daren Hale, portfolio holder for regeneration and economic investment, said: “The Esteem partnership has been an incredible success, delivering various fantastic projects throughout the city.
“Esteem has also built up a strong network of local and reliable businesses that are benefiting from the council’s investment. The continuation of this partnership is great for the city, residents and local contractors and businesses.”
