IKEA has opened its Plan & Order Point in Kingston Retail Park, Hull, marked with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by all the new store’s 13 co-workers.

The Plan & Order Point is a smaller store dedicated to kitchen and bedroom planning, where customers can visit for home furnishing advice and expertise to help design their ideal space.

Customers can book an appointment, free of charge, to start their design journey with one of the Hull store’s six planning specialists or use the in-store self-service tools to design their own solution.

Despite being smaller than a standard ‘blue box’, the store is packed with the inspiration expected from IKEA.

The unit houses a home furnishing planning area, eight bespoke PAX wardrobe solutions and three BESTA solutions, each designed to provide inspiration on how to maximise spaces through storage solutions.

In total, customers will find 13 different kitchens to browse for inspiration, from a complete kitchen, including oven and hob, for under £1,800, to innovative pantry solutions that meet the storage needs of all households, as well as an appliance studio.

The new store specialises in kitchens and bathrooms.

At IKEA Plan and Order Points, customers can order from the entire IKEA product range, with the option for next day collection or home delivery. It will also offer a collection area for orders made online, as well as providing a service for customers wanting to return any IKEA purchase.

The store will also host a range of over 100 home furnishing accessories for immediate takeaway, including some of IKEA's most popular products.

Conor Doherty, IKEA Market Manager, said: “We’re thrilled to open the doors to IKEA Plan and Order Point Hull, giving customers an opportunity to browse and be inspired by our unique kitchen range and smart storage solutions.

"This is the perfect place for customers to discover the wide range of affordable home solutions IKEA has to offer – no matter their budget and is a convenient new spot to collect orders made online or from our Leeds store. We’re excited to welcome everyone in.”

Cllr Mike Ross, leader of Hull City Council, added: “It’s fantastic to see IKEA expanding into Hull with their new Plan and Order Point. This is a vote of confidence in our city’s future – creating jobs, improving choice for local people, and strengthening Hull’s retail offering.

"Welcoming such a well-known global name is a real boost for our community and a sign of continued investment in the area.”

IKEA Plan and Order Point Hull will open Monday to Saturday 9am – 8pm and Sundays 10am – 4pm.
