Festive event organised by HullBID to take place in the city on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 November.

Hull Christmas Market will feature 60 stalls selling crafts, gifts and street foods.

Hull Christmas Market will bring festive sights, sounds and smells to Trinity Square this month.

The festive event will take place in the city on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 November. It is organised by HullBID, which ran the popular Hull Street Food Nights in nearby Zebedee’s Yard.

The market, open from noon to 9pm, will feature about 60 stalls selling crafts and gifts, plus a variety of street foods. Activities will include a brass band, carol singing by the Hull Minster choir, a costumed character show and pictures inside a giant snow globe.

Street food traders will provide a Christmassy menu option, with food including turkey, stuffing and cranberry pizzas, Yorkshire pudding wraps, gingerbread waffles and mincemeat and brandy sauce crepes, as well as bratwurst and mulled wine.

Both Hull Minster and Trinity Indoor Market will open alongside the market.

Street food vendors such as The Crepe Company will provide Christmas treats.

Kathryn Shillito, HullBID executive director, said: “We have worked hard all year at HullBID organising such events as the Hull Street Food Nights, the Yum! Festival of Food and Drink and Hull Trinity Farmers’ Market and this event is inspired by the success of all of those.

“Hull Christmas Market will be a seasonal celebration of quality and quirkiness, with some fantastic gifts for sale including handmade crafts and locally-produced, high-quality food and drink. With the fun continuing well into the evening there will be another taste of the Hull Street Food Nights, which have been so popular during the last two years.

“Businesses in the city centre will benefit from the footfall which the Christmas Market will attract and some of them – including Chance Gifts and The Store on Pier Street – will literally set out their stalls to sell their wares. It’s a great opportunity to buy some special and unusual gifts.

“Wrap up warm and bring the whole family along for what will be a truly magical market set in the atmospheric beauty of Trinity Square and Hull Minster.”

Gifts from local traders, homemade advent calendars, festive wreaths and the opportunity to order a real Christmas tree will feature, alongside many offerings with a Hull theme.
