Store to open on Stoneferry Trade Park on April 12, the first day non-essential retail outlets are permitted to open.
One of the UK’s fastest growing flooring retailers is opening its first store in Hull with an investment of £150,000.
Flooring Superstore will open a new store on the city’s Stoneferry Trade Park on April 12, the first day non-essential retail outlets are permitted to open.
The retailer is investing £150,000 in the new 4,535 sq ft store, creating four jobs.
Regional manager Greig Anderson said: “Throughout the course of 2021 we are planning to open 25 new stores, which will double our retail footprint in just 12 months.
“Hull has always been on our radar as we strive to open more stores along the eastern side of the country, so we’re delighted to be finally coming to the city.
“We’re increasingly seeing shoppers wanting a range of different flooring for their home, so it could be wood flooring for the living room, vinyl for the kitchen, carpet for the stairs and artificial grass for the garden.
“And because we started life as an online retailer in 2012 and have grown our e-commerce platform, it means we can offer online pricing to people visiting our physical stores.”
Flooring Superstore will also open stores in Norwich, Lincoln, Orpington, and Basingstoke. This follows recent openings in Doncaster, Huddersfield and Newcastle.
Flooring Superstore is reaching out to Hull charities or organisations in need of support through its corporate social responsibility programme.
Greig says: “We’re always happy to make donations of flooring to local good causes as our way of giving something back to areas where we receive such fantastic support through our stores.
“So, we would love to hear from charities, voluntary organisations or groups doing great work in the Hull community who may need flooring for a particular project.”
