Hull City Council's executive director for regeneration & partnerships, Chris Jackson, has shared an update on Hull's City Centre Vision
Hull’s recently launched City Centre Vision sets out an
exciting 20-year framework to transform the heart of Hull by 2045.
The vision’s purpose is to shape Hull’s centre, creating a city that is innovative, healthy, creative, liveable, productive, distinctive and resilient.
We want Hull to be a great place to live, work and visit and are already delivering this through the Maritime programme, and being named as one of National Geographic’s Top 25 global destinations to visit in 2026.
Hull’s multi-faceted Maritime offering is a huge draw for both residents and visitors and ensures that the city doesn’t forget its heritage and what made it what it is today, while looking forward to future economic opportunity that our ports and location offer.

Hull City Council is fully backing this City Centre Vision and is working with national partners to help deliver flagship redevelopment sites in East Bank and Albion Square, with residential and commercial investment opportunities available as part of these projects.
Further key city centre sites, such as Mytongate and Paragon, next to Hull’s rail and bus interchange, demonstrate the endless regeneration possibilities in Hull.
Ambitious local growth plans are aimed at harnessing economic assets, tackling local barriers and translating investment into tangible improvement in jobs, opportunity and prosperity.
They also align with the Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority’s Local Growth Plan, which include exciting plans to transform Hull’s Western Docklands and maximise the benefits of the Humber Freeport sites.
