Joint-statement from Hull City Council Leader Mike Ross and Chief Executive Matt Jukes.

Mike Ross

There has never been a better time to invest in Hull.

During the past five years, we’ve seen record levels of investment and employment in our city, a boom in the building of new homes and the highest GVA growth in Yorkshire. We’ve re-established our role as the city driving economic growth across the Humber, Yorkshire and into the Midlands and as a key gateway connecting the UK and the north of England with regional, national and global markets.

Confidence is high and the city is capitalising on this success. Our 30-year City Plan sets out a clear vision and strategy for prosperity and fair growth centred on making the most of our world-class assets, our excellent location, our digital connectivity, our unique heritage and culture and the innovation of our existing businesses and institutions, who continue to invest, and, most importantly, the creativity, ambition, talent and can-do attitude of our workers and our residents.

At the same time, Hull is a place renowned for opening our arms to all who wish to be part of our incredible journey. As a city and a council, we’ve established a reputation as a place that is ready to pull out the stops to make things happen and ensure they succeed. Just as importantly, we take a long-term approach to supporting and developing new and existing businesses and to fostering entrepreneurialism.

On behalf of our residents, our businesses and our many local, regional and national partners, we’d like to invite you to find out more about what Hull has to offer.
